They're three brothers from Texas and they rock. The guitar player is heavily influenced by Stevie Ray Vaughn (sp?) and they put on a good show. They have quite a few shows here on the archive too. Check thsm out when you can. I'm sure others have more to say about them.

They constitute one of the bright spots in mainstream pop radio these days because they are real players and bring to the table strong blues, traditional rock, and jam influence. They first hit it big about three-and-a-half years ago with their debut single Heaven, achieving top 10 status right out of the chute. The song won a Grammy in 2005-Best Pop Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group. They got their big break by being brought to the attention of fellow Texan Willie Nelson who invited them to play Farm Aid and let them record their first album in his studio. Three brothers named Garza from San Angelo in the Lone Star State: Henry (guitar), JoJo (bass), and Ringo (drums). Gotta love a band with a drummer named Ringo (actually he's named after their Dad). And speaking of, try to give a listen to the Los Lonely Boys cover of Whatever Gets You Through The Night, a song originally from a guy who also played with a drummer named Ringo. It's part of Instant Karma: The Amnesty International Campaign to Save Darfur package of Lennon covers that was just released.

Loop? There is a Loop? No one tells me these things. If you know the whereabouts of this said Loop, please let me know. Is the word "Loopy" really referring to someone "In The Loop"?

PS. If I were bugging, the word "Loop" would instantly become the most nonsensical word in the english language.

Note: I feel that due to the fact that I first entered a reasonable response to the original question, I am somewhat entitled to a little hijacking....ok, a huge hijacking. And don't get me started on "hijacking".

I am terribly sorry, good sir, but under the unwritten laws of Forum participation one must first enter a serious post that in some way is related to the original thread before they can engage in frivolous hijacking (haven't we covered this?). Therefore, your post is hereby stricken from the record and should be ignored pending a relevant entry from the author.

Taking Dire's advice on the etiquette of posting is similar to taking advice from John Wayne Gacy on the finer points of being a successful clown.

Dough: It kneads it.
Pokey: It needs what?
Dough: It kneads the dough.
Pokey: The dough needs the dough?
Gumby: [Dough looks to Gumby helplessly] Pokey, he means the machine KNEADS the dough.
Pokey: Oh.

OK so it's not Gumby or even Davey and Goliath, but just don't ask me exactly how I made the connection here. Let's just say I have issues.

Nice smooth transition from Los Lonely Boys to deranged mass murderers and clay-mation icons. Kind of like a Scarlet Begonias > Helter Skelter

You actually ask how the two of you could think of the same thing at the same time?

Sick minds work alike?
Or, perhaps, at long last, we have gotten to the nexus of your twisted little universe. You and Mistah Hollow are one and the same.

Fess up.

I mean, no one ever sees the two of you together in the same room, despite the rumors.

I was in high school and a friend threw a party. We all crashed on the floor and were in tough shape the next morning. They left the TV on and 6AM rolls around and Davey and Goliath pops up. One guy was so pissed and hung over he threw a shoe at the tv and screamed at Goliath, "shut up you f'in piece of clay!"

Gacey was very successful in covering his abnormalities. If you watch a bio on him, it may show a picture of him standing with Nancy Reagan at a dinner party.
He was invited.
Just goes to show that you never really know anybody and the guy next to you can be just about anyone.
I think he's ruined clowns for a generation. Well, him and Stephen King with 'It'

I guess I define a "successful clown" as one that DOESN'T drug, murder and stuff people into crawl spaces. Maybe that's just me, but I can't see Bozo with a basement full of body parts.

As stated here, these 3 (Henry, Jojo and Ringo) are sons of a man who has been in the Tejano music scene his whole life. In fact, their father was a guest player (accordion) in some of their live performances. If you want a more detailed bio of the band: http://www.loslonelyboys.org/bio.html
I personally love the band, but seeing as how I have married into a Mexican/American family, I have had heavy exposure to this style of music. But if you can imagine the Chicano infulence of Santana mixed with the hard edged Blues of Stevie Ray, you've got Los Lonely Boys. Not for everyone, but at least worth a listen.
